Set a service reminder
In Loggy, service reminders tell you when something’s due — an oil change, registration, insurance, or a custom service. Open the vehicle, tap Add Reminder, set the date or interval, choose whether it repeats, and save. Loggy notifies you before it’s due so nothing slips.
What it does
Service reminders take the mental load off remembering when maintenance is due. You set a date or a repeating interval (for example every 6 months or every 10,000 km), and Loggy sends a notification ahead of time. They’re fully customisable and work for any vehicle or asset you track.
When to use it
Use a reminder for anything on a schedule: oil changes, tyre rotations, registration/rego renewal, insurance, safety inspections, or a service interval your manufacturer recommends. If it’s a recurring job, set it to repeat once and Loggy handles the rest.
How to use it
- Open the vehicle you want the reminder on.
- Tap Add Reminder (in the Reminders section of the vehicle screen).
- Give it a name — e.g. “Oil change” or “Registration renewal”.
- Set the due date, or a repeat interval (time-based, and where supported, distance-based).
- Turn on Repeat if it should recur automatically after each due date.
- Tap Save. The reminder shows on the vehicle and you’ll get a notification before it’s due.
Examples
Example 1 — Repeating oil change every 6 months
Scenario: You service your car twice a year and always forget the second one. Setup: Reminder “Oil change”, repeat every 6 months, first due date set to your next service. Result: A notification lands ahead of each due date, forever, until you turn it off.
Example 2 — One-off registration renewal
Scenario: Your rego is due in March and you don’t want a late fee. Setup: Reminder “Registration renewal”, due date early March, repeat off. Result: Loggy reminds you in time to renew — no surprise fine.
FAQs
Q: Can reminders repeat automatically? A: Yes. Turn on Repeat and set the interval — Loggy re-creates the reminder after each due date so you only set it once.
Q: Can I get reminders based on mileage instead of a date? A: Loggy supports customisable, repeatable reminders; where distance-based intervals are available you can set them per vehicle. If you only see date-based options on your version, set the date to your best estimate and update it when you log your mileage.
Q: I set a reminder but never got a notification — why? A: This is almost always a phone notification-permission setting. See Reminder notifications aren’t showing for the quick fix.
Q: Do reminders work for motorcycles, boats and other vehicles? A: Yes — reminders work the same for every vehicle and asset type in Loggy.
Limitations & known issues
- Notifications depend on your phone granting Loggy notification permission — if they’re off at the OS level, reminders can’t alert you.
- We’re actively improving reminders; if something feels missing, tell us via Contact support — user feedback shapes what we build next.
