Heavy use and tough conditions
Dusty areas and hard riding
TVS says that if you ride at full throttle for long stretches or in dusty areas, some jobs should be done more often. In dusty areas the air filter element needs replacing before the listed distance.
Free services
The five free services are at 500 to 750 km (1 month), 2,500 to 3,000 km (3 months), 5,000 to 6,000 km (6 months), 8,500 to 9,000 km (9 months) and 11,500 to 12,000 km (12 months), whichever comes first. After that, there's a service every 3,000 km or 3 months, and the larger one every 6,000 km or 6 months.
Regional differences
This is the Indian-market manual. TVS sells the Apache in many other countries, and their manuals, free service rules and oil specifications may differ. Check the one for your country.
This page covers the Apache RTR 160 4V with ride modes and the non-connected cluster, as in the TVS manual linked below. The 2V, 200 4V and other Apache models have their own manuals. The full chart has many more inspect and lubricate lines that we have not copied here. The mile figures are our rounded conversions.
How to track this in Loggy
Loggy is a free maintenance logbook app for iOS and Android. With a service every 3,000 km, a logbook pays off quickly. Add your Apache, log every service with the odometer reading and receipt, and set a reminder date for the next one.
- Log each service with its date, reading, cost, receipt and photos.
- Set a reminder for the next service. Loggy reminders go off on a date, not at an odometer reading, so pick the date from how much you usually drive.
- Add your old paper records so the whole history is in one place.
- Export the history as a PDF or transfer it to the next owner when you sell.
The free plan has unlimited vehicles, reminders, PDF export and vehicle transfer, and no ads.
