Ford F-150 maintenance schedule
Covers: 2024 F-150 sold in the US and Canada, from Ford's owner's manual (edition date August 2023). Last checked: 3 November 2026.
Ford's 2024 F-150 owner's manual does not fix an oil change distance. The Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor shows a message when the oil is due, and Ford says that can be up to one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km). Change the oil within two weeks or 500 miles (800 km) of the message, then reset the monitor. If the display resets or stops working, change it at six months or 5,000 miles (8,000 km) from the last change. The rest of Ford's service schedule is on its website, not in the manual.

Heavy use and tough conditions
Hard use and oil consumption
Ford says long periods at high engine speed, high loads, engine braking, hard cornering, and track or off-road use can raise oil consumption to about 1 quart per 500 miles (1 litre per 800 km). It says to check the oil level at every refuel in that case. Frequent short trips, long idling and long spells of low-speed driving can dilute the oil and raise the level.
Where the full schedule is
The manual sends owners to Ford's maintenance schedule page on its website for the service intervals. This page does not summarise that web page, so items such as tyre rotation, spark plugs, brake fluid and transmission fluid are not covered here.
Regional differences
This is the 2024 F-150 owner's manual for the US and Canada. Ford publishes a separate manual for each model year and market, and the oil change and service guidance can differ. Use the manual for your exact truck.
This page does not cover other model years, the F-150 Lightning, or other markets. It also leaves out the fixed-distance items on Ford's website, such as tyre rotation, spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid. The km figure in the first row is our rounded conversion where Ford does not give one.
How to track this in Loggy
Loggy is a free maintenance logbook app for iOS and Android. Add your F-150, log each oil change with the odometer reading and the receipt, and note the date the Oil-Life Monitor message first appeared. Loggy's reminders work by date for now, so set a six-month date reminder as your backstop and log the mileage at each service.
- Log each service with its date, reading, cost, receipt and photos.
- Set a reminder for the next service. Loggy reminders go off on a date, not at an odometer reading, so pick the date from how much you usually drive.
- Add your old paper records so the whole history is in one place.
- Export the history as a PDF or transfer it to the next owner when you sell.
The free plan has unlimited vehicles, reminders, PDF export and vehicle transfer, and no ads.
