Toyota Hilux maintenance schedule

Covers: All Hilux models as described by Toyota UK. Toyota UK does not split this by model year or engine.. Last checked: 2 November 2026.

Toyota UK says every Hilux is serviced every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The service is either an Intermediate or a Full one, and both include an oil and filter change and an inspection on a lift. Toyota UK does not publish separate intervals for coolant, belts or spark plugs on that page, so this page does not list any.

Always check your owner's manual. This page sums up the manufacturer's published schedule in our own words. Your vehicle's year, engine, country and the way you drive can all change the intervals.

Heavy use and tough conditions

Off-road and hard use

Toyota UK says the differentials, their locking mechanisms and the low-range transfer case get extra checks on a Hilux because of off-road use. A Full service adds more fluid changes and filter replacements, and at major milestones the exhaust, suspension and transmission get extra attention. It does not list the milestones. For those, ask a Toyota Centre or check the handbook for your truck.

Warranty and servicing

Toyota UK says a Hilux under 10 years old and under 100,000 miles gets 12 months or 10,000 miles of warranty cover each time it is serviced at a Toyota Professional centre.

Regional differences

This page is based on Toyota UK. Toyota's guides for other countries are separate documents, and their intervals may differ. Check the one for your country and your truck's year.

Toyota UK's page does not give oil grades, coolant, spark plug or glow plug intervals, or whether your engine has a timing belt or chain. When a reader asked about the 2.4 engine, Toyota UK only said to contact a local Toyota Centre. The km figure is our rounded conversion, not Toyota's.

How to track this in Loggy

Loggy is a free maintenance logbook app for iOS and Android. Add your Hilux, log each service with the odometer reading and the receipt, then set a reminder for the next one. If you work it hard off road, log the diff and transfer case checks as their own entries.

The free plan has unlimited vehicles, reminders, PDF export and vehicle transfer, and no ads.
