Polaris's own schedule for the 2022 RANGER 1000 Tractor counts in hours, miles and months, whichever you reach first. The first service is at 25 hours: change the engine oil and filter. After that, the main service is every 100 hours, 1,000 miles (1,600 km) or yearly, which covers oil and filter, air filter, drive belt, spark plugs, and the transmission and front gearcase fluids. Polaris says severe use halves every interval.

Heavy use and tough conditions
Severe use
Polaris says a vehicle in severe use must be serviced at 50% of the stated interval. It names frequent immersion in mud, water or sand, and extended idling. So a 100-hour service becomes a 50-hour one.
Which services Polaris wants a dealer to do
Polaris marks some items in its schedule, including the clutches, fuel system, suspension components, shock absorbers and valve clearance, and says it recommends an authorised Polaris dealer does them.
Regional differences
Polaris publishes a separate schedule for each model and year, and the numbers differ. Polaris's generic RANGER schedule PDF, for example, counts in miles and months only, with the oil and filter at every 500 miles or 6 months. Use the manual for your exact model and year, and the km figures here are the ones Polaris prints.
This page covers the 2022 RANGER 1000 Tractor only. It does not cover other RANGER models, RZR, Sportsman or other years. It also leaves out the pre-ride checks and tyre pressures. Check your owner's manual for those.
How to track this in Loggy
Loggy is a free maintenance logbook app for iOS and Android. Add your RANGER, set the odometer to hours, and log the hour meter reading at every service with the receipt. Loggy's reminders work by date for now, so set a date reminder as a nudge and use the hour meter reading in your log to know when the next service is due.
- Log each service with its date, reading, cost, receipt and photos.
- Set a reminder for the next service. Loggy reminders go off on a date, not at an odometer reading, so pick the date from how much you usually drive.
- Add your old paper records so the whole history is in one place.
- Export the history as a PDF or transfer it to the next owner when you sell.
The free plan has unlimited vehicles, reminders, PDF export and vehicle transfer, and no ads.
