Polaris Sportsman 450 / 570 maintenance schedule

Covers: 2025 Sportsman 450 / 570, from Polaris owner's manual P/N 9941697. Last checked: 3 November 2026.

Polaris's own schedule for the 2025 Sportsman 450 / 570 counts in hours, miles and months, whichever you reach first. The first service is at 25 hours, when the engine oil and filter and the front gearcase fluid are changed. After that comes a main inspection every 100 hours, 1,000 miles (1,600 km) or yearly. The engine oil and filter are changed every 200 hours, 2,000 miles (3,200 km), and Polaris says severe use halves every interval.

Always check your owner's manual. This page sums up the manufacturer's published schedule in our own words. Your vehicle's year, engine, country and the way you drive can all change the intervals.

Heavy use and tough conditions

Severe use

Polaris says a vehicle in severe use must be serviced at 50% of the stated interval. It names frequent immersion in mud, water or sand, constant high RPM use, prolonged low-speed heavy load operation, extended idling, and short trips in cold weather. So a 200-hour oil change becomes a 100-hour one.

Which services Polaris wants a dealer to do

Polaris marks some items with an asterisk: the clutches, fuel system, suspension components, throttle cable, shock absorbers and valve clearance. It says to have an authorised Polaris dealer or other qualified person do these.

Regional differences

Polaris publishes a separate manual for each model and year, and the intervals differ between them. This page uses the 2025 Sportsman 450 / 570 manual, which counts in hours, miles (kilometres) and months. Use the manual for your exact model and year.

This page covers the 2025 Sportsman 450 / 570 only. It does not cover the Sportsman Touring, X2, 6x6, 850 or 1000, other Polaris models or other years, and it does not cover Can-Am, Honda or Yamaha. It also leaves out pre-ride checks, tyre pressures and the steps for each job. Check your owner's manual for those.
